Andre Paras nag-retire na agad sa PBA, mas pinili pa rin ang showbiz: ‘Sayang, sobra!’

MAS pinili ng Kapuso star na si Andre Paras ang showbiz kesa sa pagiging basketball player sa PBA.
After one season ng paglalaro sa PBA with the Blackwater franchise, nag-retire na agad ang young actor para makapag-focus na uli sa kanyang acting career.
Sa pamamagitan ng formal letter na ipinadala niya sa Blackwater team owner na si Dioceldo Sy, nagpaalam na nga siya sa kanyang professional basketball areer.
“I would like to respectfully inform you of my formal retirement from professional basketball with Blackwater Bossing as your player, effective immediately.
“I would like to thank you for all the great opportunities you have given me at Blackwater.
“I have enjoyed working with the team and management and I am ready to move on to the next phase of my life and continue my acting career,” ang nakasaad sa sulat ni Andre.

Tinanggap naman ni Dioceldo Sy ang resignation letter ng Kapuso actor pero aniya, nalungkot at nanghinayang ang buong team sa kanyang naging desisyon.
“Sayang sobra! So me, like a father to most of the players, I like to see them have a greener pasture.
“I know it’s heavy also on Andre’s heart so let destiny decide one’s path or journey. I wish Andre all the best,” ayon kay Sy sa panayam ng GMA.
Reaksyon naman ng Sparkle Artist Center ng GMA sa naging desisyon ni Andre, “All he has to say is he wants to focus now on his career in show business.”
Sa naging panayam ng press kay Andre bago siya sumabak sa PBA sinabi niyang, “The reason why I decided to apply for that is because I’m chasing my dreams. I’ve always wanted to play basketball.”
At kung darating daw ang araw na kailangan na niyang pumili, “Yung sagot ko now, kasi my motto in life it’s always change your happiness to what makes you happy.
“And showbiz or hosting makes me happy, basketball makes me happy. And at this point sabay pa rin sila, so I have no reason to choose [one], kasi sabay naman po sila — both make me happy, but there might come a time, when I have to choose and I don’t know the answer to that yet.
“So, I guess, makikita n’yo na lang one day, pagtingin n’yo ng TV — Am I on court or kung wala, e, di nasa TV ako. So, you’ll know the answer to that,” aniya pa.
