BTS, President Biden sanib-pwersa kontra anti-Asian hate crimes: We were devastated…

FEELING honored ang Korean pop supergroup na BTS sa pagbisita nila ngayong araw sa White House kung saan mainit silang tinanggap ni United States President Joe Biden.

Ang pagkikita ng pangulo ng Amerika at ng award-winning K-Pop group ay bahagi ng adbokasiya ng dalawang kampo “to raise awareness against anti-Asian hate crimes.”

Sa official Twiiter account ng BTS, naka-post ang litrato ng grupo na naka-finger heart pose kasama si Biden na kuha sa White House Oval Office.

“Thanks for having us at the White House! It was a huge honor to discuss important issues with @POTUS today,” ang caption na nakasulat sa nasabing post kung saan naka-tag din ang official Twitter page ng US President.

“We’re very grateful for #BTSARMY who made it all possible,” dagdag pang mensahe ng BTS na ang tinutukoy ay ang milyun-milyong fans ng K-pop group.

Ayon naman kay Jimin, “We were devastated by the recent surge of hate crimes, including Asian American hate crimes.

“To put a stop on this and support the cause, we’d like to take this opportunity to voice ourselves once again,” aniya pa.

Sa official Twitter account naman ni Biden, mapapanood ang halos isang minutong video ng ilang kaganapan sa pagkikita nila ng BTS.

Dito, nagpasalamat si RM kay President Biden sa pagsasabatas ng COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act para sa laban ng mundo kontra Asian hate crimes na mas lumala pa during the pandemic.

Nag-thank you rin si Biden sa BTS, “for all you’re doing to raise awareness around the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination.”

Bago pa ang pagkikita ng sikat na sikat na Korean group, umapir muna sila sa White House briefing room podium para magbigay ng message hinggil sa anti-Asian hate crimes sa US.
