ALL EYES ulit para sa Cebuano designer na si Axel Que but this time sa kanyang National costume creation para kay Miss World Philippines Tracy Maureen Perez.
Ibinandera ni Que ang kanyang “Mayari” natcos design na itinatampok ngayon sa Dances of the World na bahagi ng Miss World 2021 sa Puerto Rico.
Sa local mythology, si ‘Mayari’ ay isang diyosa ng buwan at anak ng Bathala.
Paliwanag pa ng designer sa kaniyang Facebook post, “Hailed as the most beautiful deity, she has complete dominion of the world at night. The moon has been revered as a celestial being by most ancient civilizations in antiquity.
“Apart from its mysterious allure, it has also been though to have great cosmic influence on the mortal realm.”
Punong-puno naman ito ng disenyong bulaklak, tassels, at perlas na lalong nagpamukadkad sa kabuuang anyo ng costume.
“My rendition incorporated a lot of traditional forms as the base silhouette, with slight exaggerations in the proportion and volume. For embellishment, I crafted white & purple moon flowers ( morning glory/ moon vine ) from scratch, and added the gradient shading in the middle to give it more depth. Pearls and tassels thoughtfully border the hemlines.” patuloy ni Que.
Nauna rito, naging matunog ang pangalan ng Cebuano designer nito lamang din Sabado dahil siya rin ang nagdisenyo ng Bakunawa-national costume ni Bea Gomez sa Miss Universe 2021.
Ipinost din ito ni Tracy sa kanyang personal Instagram account na umani naman ng pagkamangha sa mga netizens.
