MATAPOS ang simple ngunit makulay na pagbubukas ng 2013 Batang Pinoy Mindanao Qualifying Leg kahapon sa Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Center sa Mankilam, Tagum City ay mag-uumpisa naman ang mga laro ngayon.
Mahigit 1,700 atleta ang nasa Tagum City ngayon para makipagtagisan ng husay at galing sa larangan ng sports. Ang opening ceremony kahapon ay pinangunahan nina Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Richie Garcia, Davao del Norte Gov. Rodolfo del Rosario at Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon.
Anim na laro ang gaga-napin sa bagong gawang Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Center. Ang mga ito ay athletics, softball, swimming, badminton, gymnastics at cheerdance.
Ang mga larong taekwondo, wrestling at judo naman ay ilalaro sa Gaisano Mall of Tagum habang ang table tennis, arnis, Pencak Silat at karatedo ay sa NCCC Mall of Tagum gaganapin.
