P13.18-M halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo, nasamsam sa Cotabato City

Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Davao ang 432 kahon ng smuggled na sigarilyo sa Cotabato City noong December 7.

Nasabat ng ahensya ang mga ilegal na produkto sa pamamagitan ng Sub-port sa Parang katuwang ang Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service at Enforcement and Security Service, kasama ang Philippine Marines, Philippine National Police at Philippine Coast Guard.

Nakuha ang kargamento habang papasok sa bansa ang isang bangka na may pangalang Al-Shameem.

Ang mga nakuhang smuggled na sigarilyo ay may brand na Fort, Bravo, Canon, New Berlin, Astro, Famous at Aries na nagkakahalaga ng P13,188.411.09.

“Through stronger relations with our partner agencies, we have increased anti-smuggling activities that has led to higher rates of seizure on illicit goods in our area of responsibility,” pahayay ni BOC Davao District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino Austria.

Inilabas ang Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) dahil sa paglabag sa Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tarif Act (CMTA).

Tiniyak naman ng BOC Port of Davao sa publiko na mas magiging mahigpit pa sila sa pagbabantay upang hindi makapasok ang mga ilegal na produkto sa bansa.
