Main building ng BI, isasara dahil sa tatlong positive COVID-19 cases

Muling isasara ang main office building ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Intramuros, Maynila.

Ito ay matapos magpositibo ang tatlong empleyado sa COVID-19.

Sinabi ng ahensya na isasara ang nasabing tanggapan para sa isasagawang disinfection mula Lunes, July 27 hanggang Martes, July 28.

Ayon kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, sa kasagsagan ng dalawang araw na suspensyon ng operasyon, kailangang sumailalim sa rapid anti-body test ang lahat ng empleyado ng ahensya.

Sinumang lumabas naa positibo ay kailangang dumaan sa confirmatory swab test.

“Given the high number of people who troop to our main building everyday to transact business, we have to take all precautionary measures to prevent the transmission of this virus in our office premises,” pahayag ni Morente.

Samantala, sasailalim muli sa rapid test ang immigration officers na nakatalaga sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) sa susunod na buwan.

“We will also instruct our terminal heads in the other international ports to again coordinate with the local government units (LGUs) in their turfs for the conduct of another rapid testing for our frontliners outside Metro Manila,” ani BI Port Operations Acting Chief Grifton Medina.
