19K sa 24K OFWs sa quarantine facilities nakauwi na- DOLE
Free ride for OFWs
NAKAUWI na ang may 19,000 overseas Filipino workers mula sa iba’t ibang quarantine facilities.
Ayon kay Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III nasa 5,000 OFW na lamanga ng hinid pa nakakauwi at naghihintay ng masasakyan pabalik sa kanilang mga probinsya.
“We are just short by about 5,000 OFWs who are still waiting to be transported back home so as to accomplish what we were tasked to do. As of last night, we were able to send home 19,010 OFWs,” ani Bello.
Humingi ng paumanhin si Bello sa pagka-antala ng pagpapauwi sa mga OFW.
Upang hindi na maulit ang pangyayari sa inaasahang pagbalik sa bansa ng libu-libong OFW, isang command center ang itinayo sa DOLE Central Office upang tumanggap ng mga datos kaugnay ng repatriation ng mga OFW.
Ang malilikom na datos ay magagamit umano upang maging sistematiko ang pagpapauwi sa mga OFW at maiwasan na magtagal ang mga ito sa mga quarantine facilities.
