ASF hindi kumalat sa ECQ

NAKATULONG umano ang deklarasyon ng Enhanced Community Quarantine upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng African Swine Fever sa bansa.

Sa virtual hearing ng House committee on agriculture, sinabi ni Agriculture Sec. William Dar na isa ito sa positibong epekto ng ECQ.

“May positive effect yung ECQ kasi po yung mga magbababoy na may balak magnegosyo pa at kasama nila yung hog traders, ay hindi na nila nagawa yung gusto nila mangyari kasi they cannot get out of their respective areas easily,” ani Dar. “So that’s the positive impact of this ECQ, more or less hindi kumakalat yung sakit.”

Dahil sa ECQ nalimitahan ang transportasyon ng mga karne na kontaminado ng ASF.

“Dito sa aming monitoring ng ASF ay very minimal yung spread,” ani Dar. “Sa checkpoints, hindi pinapalampas yung mga nagsasamantala na hog traders na ibenta pa yung mga binili nila sa mga magbababoy at ibenta sana sa ibang probinsya.”

Umabot sa 282,000 baboy ang pinatay sa 25 probinsya upang hindi kumalat ang ASF.

Ang bird flu naman ay nakontrol umano sa pagkalat at nanatili sa Jaen, Nueva Ecija.

“Noong nagawa po natin yung depopulation doon ng 12,000 birds ay we continued to monitor and up to now wala nang outbreak ng virus sa ibang lugar,” saad ng kalihim.
