Paniningil ng mas mataas na premium ng PhilHealth sa OFWs sinuspinde

INIHAYAG ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na ipinag-utos na ni Pangulong Duterte ang suspensyon ng implementasyon ng paniningil ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) ng mas mataas na premium sa harap naman ng pagbatikos ng iba’t ibang grupo.

“Secretary Duque of the Department of Health announced that he suspended item 10 2-C of implementing rules and regulations of Universal Health Care that imposes higher contributions while we have a COVID problem,” sabi ni Roque.

Idinagdag ni Roque na inatasan na rin ni Duterte ang Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) na wag nang gawing requirement ang pagbabayad ng PhilHealth premium para makakuha ang isang OFW ng Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) para makalabas ng bansa.

Nauna nang nagpalabas ang PhilHealth ang isang memorandum na nagpapataw ng tatlong porsiyentong PhilHealth premium sa mga OFWs.
