HINDI pabor si House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano sa pagbabalik operasyon ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.
Ayon kay Cayetano tutol siya sa POGO may Enhanced Community Quarantine man o wala.
“Yes, whether or not may ECQ. Pareho kami Minority Leader (Bienvenido) Abante that we are not in favor of that industry, that’s something we have said,” ani Cayetano sa panayam sa telebisyon.
Ayon kay Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) chair Andrea Domingo pinayagan na ng Inter Agency Task Force ang limitadong operayson ng mga POGO sa kondisyon na bayad lahat ng buwis na dapat nitong bayaran sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Sinabi ni Cayetano na hindi ito pabor sa anumang klase ng sugal.
“Gambling eh… I think the damage to morality and society is worse than that. Pero sa akin, kailangan pare-parehas rules sa BPO (business processing outsource) sector, kailangan sumunod sila,” dagdag pa ni Cayetano.
Ang POGO ay nasa ilalim ng Business Process Outsourcing sector pero sa ilalim ng gaming category kaya ang PAGCOR ang nagbibigay ng lisensya rito upang makapag-operasyon.
