Navotas nagbigay ng hazard pay sa basurero, street sweeper

IKINATUWA ng EcoWaste Coalition ang pagbibigay ng Navotas City government ng hazard pay sa kanilang mga kolektor ng basura ngayong kinakaharap ng bansa ang coronavirus disease 2019.

Sinabi ni Aileen Lucero, National Coordinator ng EcoWaste, na isang magandang halimbawa ang ipinakita ng Navotas at sana ay tularin din ito ng iba pang local government units.

Batay sa kopya ng Ordinance No. 2020-10 na nakuha ng EcoWaste at pirmado ni Mayor Toby Tiangco, makatatanggap ng P500 hazard pay kada araw ang mga regular, contractual o casual employees ng siyudad kasama ang mga contract of service o job order workers na kailangang pisikal na pumunta sa trabaho sa panahon ng ECQ.

“Our frontliners had to leave the safety of their homes and risk exposure to COVID-19 to be able to fulfill their duties and serve Navoteños,” ani Tiangco. “It is but right that we honor and recognize their sacrifices.”

Kasama sa makatatanggap ng hazard pay ang mga doktor, nurse, iba pang staff ng Navotas City Hospital at Navotas City Health Office, mga empleyado ng mga tanggapan na nasa skeletal workforce gayundin ang mga garbage collectors, street sweepers at utility personnel.

Ang gastos ay kukunin sa supplemental budget ng lungsod.
