“We commend and support the efforts of the BOC, particularly Customs District 10, to pursue the re-export of the unlawful waste shipments as agreed upon with the government of South Korea despite the many hurdles that have to be crossed, including the COVID-19 outbreak,” ani Aileen Lucero, National Coordinator ng EcoWaste Coalition.  “We hope the overdue re-export of SoKor’s waste in the country will be completed soon.”

“The remaining South Korean plastic trash in Misamis Oriental is a stark reminder of the country’s continuing problem with imported waste and the need for decisive measures to stem the tide of waste dumping into our ports,” dagdag pa ni Lucero.
