FDA: Prodex B hindi sure na nakapagpapagaling ng COVID-patient

DAPAT umanong sundin ng mga health facilities at health professionals ang guidelines ng Department of Health sa paggamot sa nahawahan ng coronavirus disease 2019.

Ito ang sinabi ng FDA matapos na kumalat sa social media na nakagagaling umano ang Prodex-B, drug combination ng Procaine at Dexamethasone na may Vitamin B.

“Prodex-B is circulating in various media platforms and claims that it has promising effects against viral infections and diseases. However upon verification, the drug product “Prodex-B” is unregistered in this Office,” saad ng FDA sa isang pahayag.

Ayon sa FDA ang Procaine ay isang anesthetic na ginagamit para sa pananakit at ang Dexamethasone ay isang corticosteroid na dapat pag-ingatan ang pag-inom dahil sa mga side effects nito gaya ng immunosuppression o panghihina ng immune system.

“Unregistered drug products have no guaranteed quality, safety and efficacy data which may lead to patient harm,” dagdag pa ng FDA. “All consumers who have received the aforementioned drug are advised to monitor for any adverse reactions. For any observed adverse reaction, the individuals are advised to seek medical attention immediately.”
