Pinoy celebs nagmakaawa na dagdagan ang P500 allowance ng volunteer health care workers

NAGMAKAAWA ang ilang celebrities sa Department of Health na dagdagan ang P500 daily allowance na ibibigay sa mga nag-volunteer maging healthcare workers para tumulong sa paglaban sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Inanunsyo ni DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergerie na kulang-kulang 600 na ang nag-sign up sa Health Warrior portal ng ahensiya na mga medical professionals at practitioners para maging volunteer.

Bukod sa P500 daily allowance, free food at pansamantalang matutuluyan, bibigyan din sila ng, “insurance of a cash compensation of PHP100,000 to public and private health workers who may contract severe COVID-19 infection on duty, and PHP1 million to public and private health workers who may die fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Marami ang nag-react sa alok ng DOH sa mga volunteer, masyado naman daw maliit ang P500 para isakripisyo ang sarili nilang kaligtasan. 

Ilan sa mga celebrities na umalma rito ay sina Bianca Gonzalez at Zsa Zsa Padilla. Ni-repost ni Bianca ang Facebook post ni Dr. Bryan Albert Lim na isang infectious disease specialist.

Sabi ng doktor, “500 pesos (9 US dollars) per 8 hour shift working in a facility filled with COVID confirmed cases.

“These doctors are not just ordinary volunteers. They are soldiers going to war. Risking their lives each minute that they are in that facility,” sabi pa ng doktor kasabay ng panawagan  sa mga senador at kongresista na maawa naman sila sa mga volunteer.

Reaksyon dito ni Bianca, “Please I beg the National Government to reconsider.

“I support our frontliners…To our government, our doctors are worth more than P500 a day. Please reconsider.  @DOHgovph.”

Nagkomento naman ang Divine Diva na si Zsa Zsa Padilla sa tweet ni Bianca, “Nakapanlulumo @DOHgovph Gawan nyo naman po ng paraan.”

Um-agree naman ang mga netizens sa kanila na nagsabing hindi lang P500 ang halaga ng pagsasakripisyo at pagpapakabayani ng mga volunteer sa panahon ng krisis.
