WBO bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero
DAHIL na rin sa banta ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, nagdesisyon ang World Boxing Organization (WBO) na itigil ang pag-sanction ng mga laban hanggang Hunyo 2020.
“Amidst the current situation worldwide caused by COVID-19 the WBO has postponed all boxing events through June 2020,” sabi ng Puerto Rico-based organization sa kanilang anunsyo sa isang post sa boxingscene.com. “We will update accordingly.”
Bago ang nasabing anunsyo, marami nang title fights na hinahawakan ng WBO ang ipinagpaliban.
Kabilang sa mga nasabing bouts ang inaabangang is bantamweight title unification showdown sa pagitan nina WBO champion John Riel Casimero at World Boxing Association (WBA) Super at International Boxing Federation (IBF) titleholder Naoya Inoue na nakatakda sanang ganapin ngayong Abril 25 sa Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Nitong nakaraang linggo, sinuspindi ng Top Rank ang lahat ng mga events nito hanggang Abril, kabilang ang ikasiyam na title defense ni Jerwin Ancajas ng kanyang hawak na IBF super flyweight crown.
