San Juan, Palayan co-champions sa CBA Pilipinas basketball
IDINEKLARA ang defending champion San Juan Knights Navy at Palayan City Capitals bilang co-champions sa 2020 Community Basketball Association (CBA) -Pilipinas basketball tournament.
Ito ang naging desisyon ni CBA founding president Carlo Maceda matapos ang konsultasyon sa mga opisyales ng San Juan at Palayan City bunga na rin ng isinasagawang nationwide enhanced quarantine ng gobyerno para mapigil ang pagkalat ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“The CBA officials have consulted with both teams involved in the finals and it was unanimously decided with the best interest of the fans, the players, the team owners and team officials,” sabi ni Maceda sa isang opisyal na pahayag na inilabas noong Marso 16.
“In consideration of the lockdown and its uncertainty, we would like to announce the conclusion of the CBA Executive Cup,” dagdag pa ni Maceda.
“We hope that everyone will stay healthy and we pray that these dark times will end soon so that we may start anew.”
Pirmado naman nina ng Christopher Conwi ng San Juan Knights Navy at Ryan Ripalda ng Palayan City Capitals ang kasunduan para sa kanilang koponan.
Nagwagi ang Palayan City, 79-74, sa Game 1 ng kanilang best-of-three title series noong Pebrero 29, bago itinabla ng San Juan sa serye matapos itala ang 74-66 panalo sa Game 2 na ginanap sa Gapan City noong Marso 8.
