Mahigit 400 Pinoy na sakay ng MV Diamond Princess babalik sa bansa; 52 iba pa nag-positibo sa COVID-19

MAHIGIT 400 Pinoy na sakay ng MV Diamond Princess cruise ship na nakahimpil sa Japan ang nakatakdang pauwiin, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).

Sa isang press conference, sinabi ni Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na kabilang sa repatriation plan ang tinatayang aabot sa 460 hanggang 480 indibidwal.

“The repatriation of around 460 to 480 Filipinos aboard the cruise ship has requested assistance from the Philippines,” sabi ni Vergeire,

Idinagdag ni Vergeire na napagdesisyunan ito matapos ang pulong ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF).

Sinabi ni Vergeire na isasailalim sa quarantine ang mga darating na Pinoy sa New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, kung saan dinala ang mga umuwi mula sa Wuhan City, Hubei province.

Idinagdag ni Vergeire na dalawang eroplano ang susundo sa mga Pinoy kasama ang mga medical team na naka-hazmats suits, ayon pa kay Vergeire.

Samantala, 52 iba pang Pinoy na sakay ng cruise ship ang nag-positibo sa deadly virus. Idinagdag ni Vergeire na pag-aaralan muna ng gobyerno kung paano iuuwi ang 52 na may COVID-19.

“We will not be leaving them behind, pag-uusapan logistics wise o kung paano iuuwi, ” dagdag ni Vergeire.

“Kung sakaling verified ang 52, hindi ito sabay sabay na pumasok sa ospital. Kung sakali, maaaring kailangang pagplanuhan kung paano sila maiuuwi at maa-accomodate,” paliwanag pa niya.
