Chinese tourist ban opsyon pero hindi pa ikinokonsidera

SA kanyang pagsalang sa question hour ng Kamara de Representantes, sinabi ni Duque na posibleng magkaroon ng “political and diplomatic repercussions” ang pagpapatupad ng ban mga turista mula sa mainland China.

“The confirmed cases are not limited to China,” punto pa ni Duque nang tanungin ni House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda. “If we do this, concerned countries, China in this case, might question why we’re not doing this to our countries.”

Sinabi ni Duque na ikokonsidera nito ang rekomendasyon ni Legarda.

Ipinatawag si Duque sa question hour upang masagot ang mga tanong ng mga kongresista kaugnay ng 2019 coronavirus.

Sinabi ni Duque na ang bansa ay “capable” na i-handle ang bagong virus na nakamatay ng mahigit 100 sa ibang bansa.

Sa pagtatanong ni Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin sinabi ni Duque na kaya ng bansa na matukoy kung coronavirus ang tumama sa isang pasyente sa loob ng 48 oras.

“We are very capable. We have more experts than the other countries. We are almost equipped, therefore we should not be alarmed,” iginiit naman ni Garin, dating kalihim ng DoH.

Nagpasalamat naman si Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano sa pagpunta ni Duque.
Sinabi ni Duque na dudulog ito sa Kamara de Representantes kung sakaling kakailanganin nito ng dagdag na pondo.

“If we will be needing additional budget, I will be the first one to ask for it. Thank you your honors,” saad ni Duque.
