Kaligtasan ng mga turista sa PH tiniyak matapos ang pagdukot sa Makati

TINIYAK ng Department of Tourism (DOT)  na nananatiling ligtas ang bansa para sa mga turista matapos ang umano’y pagdukot sa isang babaeng Tsinoy sa central business district ng Makati City.

“Very much,” sabi ni Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.

Ito’y matapos namang kumpirmahin ng pulisya ang pagdukot sa 28-anyos na si Zhou Mei ng tatlong sinasabing Chinese rin noong Linggo ng gabi.

“Hindi naman kasi nila nakikita, kunwari may nangyayari dito, akala nila buong Pilipinas na ‘yun,” dagdag ni Puyat.

Tiniyak ni Puyat na nakikipag-ugnayan na ang DOT sa Department of the Interior and Local Government at Philippine National Police para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga turista.

“I am very confident when it comes to the DILG and the PNP that they will handle it. Police matters are with them and we always assure that our tourist cops especially in our tourist destinations na hindi ito mangyayari (that this [abduction] will not happen),” aniya.

“We will not promote a destination na hindi safe (that is not safe). If it’s safe, that’s what we will promote,” ayon pa kay Puyat.
