‘Culion’ tatanggalin ang takot ng madlang pipol sa ketong

SA lahat ng hindi pa aware, ang Culion ay isang lugar sa Palawan na naging tirahan ng mga taong may leprosy o ketong. At makalipas nga ang maraming taon, naging tourist destination na ang Culion. Dito iikot ang pelikula nina Iza Calzado, Meryll Soriano, Jasmine Curtis at Joem Bascon na ang pinaka-objective ay ang mabura ang hindi magandang paniniwala ng mga tao tungkol sa ketong.

“Napakaganda po ng Culion kaya napakaraming foreign tourists ang bumibisita roon at napakabait po ng mga tao. Yung about sa leprosy, wala na po, wala na po yung sakit. You know what? Kahit pa meron, you know what I mean? I don’t think we should frown upon others just because we are privileged to not be going through what they are going through.

“Siyempre, naaawa tayo, but I think more than the awa, what they need is just for us to understand them and respect them, still as human beings, regardless of whatever it is that they are going through. We really want to remove the stigma on Culion as a leper colony,” pahayag pa ng award-winning actress.

Ang “Culion” ay mula sa script ng award-winning writer na si Ricky Lee, sa direksyon ni Alvin Yapan produced by Shandii Bacolod with Gilie Sing of IOptions Ventures Corp.. Showing na ito sa Dec. 25 bilang official entry sa 2019 MMFF.
