Bakit hindi kakanta si Lea sa opening ng SEA Games?
BULILYASO ang nabalitang performance ni Lea Salonga sa opening ceremonies ng 2019 Southeast Asian Games ngayong Sabado.
Si Lea ang kumanta ng theme song ng palaro titled “We Win As One”, pero sad to say, may conflict sa schedule ng musical show niya sa Singapore.
Tweet ng Broadway superstar nu’ng Lunes nang gabi, “Leaving on a jet plane tomorrow and will begin our 14-show Sweeney run on Thursday night.
“This means I will not be performing at the SEA Games opening ceremonies on Saturday. I won’t be back home til after Sweeney is done.”
May mensahe naman si Lea para sa lahat ng mga Pinoy athletes competing this year, “I just have to say that athletes have some of the most difficult jobs just because of how hard their bodies are just pushed and a lot of it is at will and going to the limits of your physical endurance and strength and flexibility.
“Talagang bilib ako sa lahat ng mga athletes so I’m hoping that everyone from this country supports all of them in all of the sports, even in sports na hindi natin masyado kilala. So sana suportahan na lang natin yung mga athletes in every one of their events.”
