HINDI raw tamang sabihing disbanded na ang grupong BoybandPH, ayon sa member nitong si Joao Contancia.
“Wala naman pong break sa amin sa BoybandPH. To be honest, the situation with us right now is there’s no disbandment, we’re still together,” depensa ng singer-actor paglilinaw agad ni Joao.
Dagdag pa ng binata, “I guess, we’re just given the opportunity to go solo to explore our career path here in showbiz lalo na sa acting. Ako naman po, yon po naman talaga ang gusto ko, eh, ang umarte, so I guess the management and even the boys alam nila yon, and they support me with my dream.
“Matagal na po na gusto ko talagang mag-acting talaga. Masaya rin po sila sa akin and they’re very supportive talaga,” dagdag pa niya sa panayam ng press sa nakaraang presscon ng pelikulang “Unbreakable”.
Sa tanong kung totoo bang may konek sa kasikatan ng grupong SB19 ang chikang madi-disband na ang BoybandPH, ito ang paliwanag ni Joao, “To be honest, there’s no feud or problem with us. I love SB19 because I adore their hard work and preparation for their craft and talent, sobrang galing po nila.”
“We also wish sometime that we had the same training, you know, the process that they’ve gone through, but I guess we’re both different groups naman talaga. So, there’s no issue with SB19 and with the disbandment, I guess it’s time na rin po for us to grow as an individual artist in the industry,” dagdag pa ng Kapamilya artist.
Ano naman ang masasabi niya sa chikang, nati-threaten daw sila sa SB19, “Hindi po. We’re not threatened,” diretsong sagot ng binata sa tanong namin.
“We’re actually happy na there’s another group in the industry. We’re happy to see that they’re also growing na rin po. It’s not a problem, there’s no issue naman with them,” pagkakalaro pa niya.
Dito inamin din ni Joao na fan din siya ng SB19, “I’m a fan of SB19… I’m a fan. My message for them, just keep doing what you do men, love you guys. It’s really cool to see what you guys can do.”
