Palasyo iginiit na kontralado pa rin ang sitwasyon kaugnay ng African Swine Fever

IGINIIT ng Palasyo na kontrolado pa rin ang sitwasyon kaugnay ng African Swine Fever matapos naman ang sunod-sunod na insidente ng pagtatapon ng mga patay na baboy na pinaghihinalaang kuntaminado ng ASF.

“As far as they’re concerned, they handled it properly. If there are isolated cases in one place, then they will take care of that,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo.

Ito’y matapos naman ang pagtatapon ng 56 na patay na baboy sa Marikina River.

Bukod pa rito, 11 patay na baboy din ang itinapon sa ilog sa Bagong Silangan sa Quezon City. Kinumpirma rin ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang mga kaso ng ASF sa Bulacan at Pampanga.

Kasabay nito, ipinagtanggol ni Panelo si Agriculture Secretary William Dar matapos ang mga puna na masyado pang maaga nang tiyakin nito na isolated lamang ang mga kaso ng ASF.

“There’s no need for any directive from the Palace simply because the DA Secretary knows what he is going to do. He’s been tasked to do it, and he is doing it,” sagot ni Panelo matapos ang tanong kung kailangang atasan si Dar para magpatupad ng bagong polisiya para sa kampanya kontra ASF.

Samantala, sinabi ni Panelo na dapat ay makipag-ugnayan muna ang mga lokal na pamahalaan bago maghayag tungkol sa ASF matapos unahan ni Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte ang paghahayag ng DA kaugnay ng mga patay na baboy na nagpositibo sa ASF.

“Well, the better action would be to call the DA Secretary first so that he would know exactly what is happening in one particular place.
