Mega hinog na hinog na para kumandidato sa eleksyon 2022

SHARON CUNETA

THREE actresses instantly come to mind sa mga noo’y nagdeklara ng kanilang pamamahinga sa showbiz, whether temporarily or for good.

Taong 1988 ‘yon noong mainterbyu namin si Janice de Belen who held a key position at Gift Gate na ang opisina’y nasa Makati. Published in one daily broadsheet, sumentro ang aming artikulo sa kakaibang sayang narararamdaman ni Janice who had self-decreed a permanent retirement from showbiz.

Hindi nga lang namin maalala how long it took before she sprang back. One thing was certain, hindi napangatawanan ni Janice ang kanyang pagreretiro she came back with an even stronger burst of energy.

Ang ikalawang aktres na nabalitang magku-quit na pero paulit-ulit din namang bumabalik ay si Kris Aquino. Oh, we’ve lost count how many times Kris has spoken about finally shutting her door on showbiz only to resurface.

Ang pinakahuli to have announced her (semi?) retirement ay si Sharon Cuneta which she took to her social media account. Pagod na raw kasi siya.

Mantakin n’yo nga naman that Sharon began her career at 12 or 13, and enjoying her much-needed rest in between work seemed luxury. Dire-diretso kasi siyang nagtatrabaho until she has unknowingly or otherwise spent 41 years of her life.

Kung wala man siyang mga pelikula, concerts are what eat up her up puwera pa ang kanyang mga regular shows on TV as well as poduct endorsements.

Napakahaba na raw ang apatnapu’t isang taon na ‘yon of gapless work to make her want to live a private life this time around. Those years have clearly burned her out.

Itinanggi ni Sharon ang speculative reasons which have pushed her to slip into retirement. Una ay ‘yung pagkalungkot she never made it as one of the judges anew in The Voice Kids.

Katwiran niya, she couldn’t bear to see a kid contestant lose. Heart-breaking daw ‘yon although it wasn’t the first time she would have taken on the job. Dapat klaro na ito sa mindset niya.

Related to this ay umano’y tunay naman talagang dahilan why she got eased out. Remember noong finale night ng Season 1 nito kung saan pingpiyestahan ang nawala-sa-tono niyang pagkanta sa duet nila ng kanyang mine-mentor, a kid surnamed Glinoga who lost in the end?

Hinala rin ng marami that Sharon’s decision had a lot to do with her child Frankie Pangilinan’s going to school abroad. Sinadya raw kasing maglaan ng oras ni Sharon for the kid everytime the latter would be back home during school breaks.

Pero kung tama ang aming pagkakatisod at pagkakaintindi sa kanyang recent post, none of these was Sharon’s main reason for wanting to quit her work.

Ang hangad lang niya’y namnamin ang kanyang pribadong buhay women her age would love to experience. May edad na rin daw siya, way above being financially secure so why still be a slave to work?

Pero wala raw dapat ikabahala ang kanyang mga fans and supporters alike. Hindi naman daw pangmatagalan o panghabambuhay ang kanyang pagkawala.

It could have been easier and less confusing sana kung ‘yun na agad ang tinumbok ni Sharon. Tuloy, she’s no different from Janice de Belen and Kris Aquino who more than hinted their retirement only to restage their comeback.

Born to a father who had long served as mayor and now married to a senator, mas welcome news pa siguro kung idineklara ni Sharon ang kanyang political agenda, which isn’t a remote idea considering that by then (2022) ay tiyak hinog na hinog na siya para pitasin from the showbiz tree, and her seed planted in political soil.
