6 patay sa aksidente sa Rizal; driver ng trak nawawala

ANIM ang patay matapos araruin ng isang trak ang dalawang jeepney sa kahabaan ng Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City, Rizal, Sabado ng hapon.
Tumakas naman ang driver ng trak matapos ang insidente.

Sinabi ng mga otoridad na hindi pa nakakausap ang may-ari ng trucking services, kung saan may sakay ang trailer truck ng glass panel nang mangyari ang aksidente ganap na alas-3:40 ng hapon.

Kabilang sa mga nasawi ay ang truck helper na si John Paul Mallari.

“(The case is still) under a follow-up investigation. Definitely, charges will be filed against the (truck) operator,” sabi ni Lt. Arnold Mercado, ground commander ng Antipolo City police.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Mercado na nag-overtake ang trak sa isang sasakyan habang paparating sa pakurbang bahagi ng highway sa Barangay Mambugan.

Idinagdag ni Mercado na base sa imbestigasyon, nawalan ng kontrol ang trak at inararo ang dalawang jeepneys sa harapan nito.

“The container van (of the truck) fell off and pinned down some of the victims,” dagdag ni Mercado.
Tumagal ang rescue at retrieval operation hanggang Sabado ng gabi.

Kinilala ng pulisya ang mga nasawi na sina Giovanie Bongaitan, Limuel Espinorio, Ramona Macaladcad, Denise Kyla Yu, at Javes Vincent Nimo. Apat na iba pa ang nananatili sa ospiyal, kabilang ang mga driver ng jeepney na sina Alex Dagupan and Rey Mandy Pelayo.

Bumibiyahe ng Antipolo City-Marikina City ang dalawang jeepney.
