Mayor sa Bataan sinuspinde

SINUSPINDE ng Sandiganbayan Sixth Division si Limay, Bataan Mayor Nelson David ng 90 araw kaugnay ng kinakaharap nitong kasong graft.

“Having entered his plea, accused David is deemed to have waived any objection he may have on the validity of the Informations under which he was charged, except on the following grounds: 1) the Informations charge no offense; 2) the Court has no jurisdiction over the offenses charged; 3) the penalty or the offense has been extinguished; and 4) double jeopardy has attached,” saad ng desisyon.

Otomatikong makakansela ang suspensyon kapag umabot na sa 90 araw.

Si David ay nahaharap sa dalawang kaso ng graft kaugnay ng pagbili ng lupa ng munisipyo na pagmamay-ari umano ng kanyang mga anak.

Sa kanyang depensa, sinabi ni David na hindi siya dapat suspendihin dahil hindi siya naging mayro sa nakaraang siyam na taon at ang nagrereklamo sa kanya na si Lilver Roque ang nakaupong mayor sa panahong ito kaya imposible na maimpluwensyahan nito ang kaso.

Si David ay nanalo sa katatapos na eleksyon kaya nais ng korte na ipatupad ang suspensyon.

Ipinadala ang kopya ng suspension order sa Department of Interior and Local Government para ipatupad ito.
