New all time HIV record posible ngayong taon
NAGPAHAYAG ng pangamba ang isang solon sa patuloy na pagtaas ng bilang ng mga Filipino na mayroong HIV.
Ayon kay Kabayan Rep. Ron Salo maaaring magkaroon ng bagong new all time record ang HIV cases sa bansa ngayong taon.
Sa unang dalawang buwan ng taon ay 2,262 bagong kaso ng HIV ang naitala.
“If the new monthly cases do not go below 1,000 per month, we could have at least 12,000 new HIV patients – a new annual record high,” ani Salo.
Noong Pebrero ay 59 nahawahan ng HIV ang namatay, at 37 ang edad 25-34 at apat ang nasa 15-24 age group.
Umaasa si Salo na gagalaw na ang bagong awareness at education campaign ng Department of Health at iba pang HIV policy implementors sa ilalim ng bagong HIV law.
“The information drive must be strongly felt in barangays, schools, communities and workplaces now, not later because time is of the essence,” saad ng solon.
