KRIS AQUINO

Kris Something posted a short video of her audition sa “Crazy Rich Asians.”

While many of her followers raved her two minute appearance, there are those who took a swipe at her.

Kasi naman, for lack of interesting to share on her Instagram account, ipinost ni Kris ang audition video niya with this caption: “Believe in the DREAM enough to have the courage to take that 1st step.

“FINALLY- sharing something i held on to for myself because it was my personal reminder, i was part of 1 magical, unforgettable moment… @kevinkwanbooks for all the times i viewed my audition reel & those few precious minutes, you gave me HOPE that though darkness may fall, it’s up to me to keep walking in the light.

“Sharing this because alam kong hindi ako nag-iisa na may mga pinagdadaanang pagsubok, at sana, gusto nyo man ako o hindi, sana yung karanasan ko magbigay inspirasyon na BAWAL SUMUKO. #exclusive #firsttime.”

With that, may mga nam-bash sa dating Queen of Talk.

“The real stars of Crazy Rich Asians were at the Oscars, wonder why you werent there? Oh yeah, coz youre INSIGNIFICANT, that scene of yours could have been deleted and no one would mind, the movie would still be a smashing success.”

“She was in Crazy Rich Asians? Maybe it was such a fleeting moment that I did not notice it. There are so many Filipinos and those with Filipino descent who have done so much more in terms of achieving something in the US entertainment.

“The TNT Boys, Darren Criss, Jo Koy etc. Making a big deal of a bit part glamorizes mediocrity. Reality is, if she is really that good, even if she was asked to read a small part, the producers would have given her a plum role. If she is really that good.’’

“Lea Salonga played Eponine for Les Miserables, a role that is written as a white French actor. Despite her strong Asian features, the producers made it happen. Reason: SHE IS JUST TOO GOOD.

“These are things we should write about. Reminisce excellence and not mediocrity because if we celebrate ordinary talent and downplay excellence, we become a nation of assuming people devoid of talent with overflowing self-confidence.”
