Feast of Nativity ni Mama Mary special working holiday
INAPRUBAHAN ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang pagdedeklara ng Setyembre 8 bilang special working holiday bilang paggunita sa Feast of the Nativity ni Blessed Virgin Mary.
Sa botong 206, inaprubahan ang House bill 7856 na ipadadala na sa Senado.
“The celebration of her birth shall be the Christians’ expression of love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary,” ani Ilocos Norte Rep. Rodolfo Farinas na may-akda ng panukala. “Saint Augustine described the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary as an event of cosmic and historic significance, and an appropriate prelude to the birth of Jesus Christ.”
Ayon sa General Roman Calendar, ang Setyembre 8 ang ika-siyam na buwan matapos ang kadakilaan ng Immaculate Conception of Mary na ipinagdiriwang tuwing Disyembre 8.
Ang Disyembre 8 ay isang special non-working holiday na kilala bilang Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.
Bagamat walang dokumento na nagpapatunay sa petsang ito, sinabi ni Farinas na ang Protoevangelium of James na isinulat noong 2nd century ay nag-iwan ng mga magagamit na datos sa pagtukoy sa araw na ito.
