Ateneo nadagit ang ika-10 UAAP men’s basketball title
NAUWI ng defending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles ang ikalawang sunod na UAAP men’s basketball title at kabuuang ika-10 korona matapos ma-sweep ang University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, 99-81, sa Game 2 ng UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball finals Miyerkules sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Cubao, Quezon City.
Kumamada si Ferdinand “Thirdy” Ravena ng game-high 38 puntos na sinamahan pa niya ng tig-6 na rebound at assist para pamunuan ang Blue Eagles
Nagdagdag naman si Angelo Kakou Kouame ng 22 puntos at 20 rebound habang si Rafael Verano ng 11 puntos para makatuwang ni Ravena na tinanghal na Finals Most Valuable Player matapos magtala ng series average na 29.5 point, 8.0 rebound 7.5 assist at 2.5 steal.
Ang 38 puntos ni Ravena ay ang most points scored sa UAAP Finals magmula noong 2003.
Pinamunuan ni Juan Gomez de Liaño ang Fighting Maroons sa itinalang 24 puntos habang nag-ambag si Season 81 MVP Bright Akhuetie ng 19 puntos.
