NANANAWAGAN si 1-Edukasyon Rep. Salvador Belaro Jr., sa Commission on Higher Education upang isalba ang college professors na nagtuturo ng literature at Filipino.
Ito ay matapos na paboran ng Korte Suprema ang CHED na alisin ang Filipino at literature sa general education core curriculum.
Nangangamba si Belaro na magresulta ang desisyon sa pagtanggal sa mga Filipino at literature professors kaya kailangan umanong sumailalim ng mga ito sa “massive retooling and jobs program” upang manatili sa mga college faculty.
“The CHED K to 12 Transition Program must be extended and be executed much better. There were many problems with this program before. With the lessons learned, we can save the thousands of faculty who could be retrenched because of the SC decision,” ani Belaro.
Umapela naman si Belaro sa education sector na igalang ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema.
Ayon sa desisyon ‘valid’ ang CHEd memorandum order 20 series of 2013 na nagbababa sa general education curriculum sa 36 units.
Kinuwestyon ng Alyansa ng Mga Tagapagtanggol ng Wikang Fi-lipino (Tanggol Wika) ang CHEd order.
