POSIBLENG may bago ng batas kaugnay sa HIV-AIDS bago ang Word AIDS Day sa Disyembre 1.
Ayon kay Kabayan Rep. Ron Salo, nakakabahala ang patuloy na pagtaas ng bilang ng mga nahawa ng HIV-AIDS sa bansa kaya dapat ng baguhin ang batas na ginawa noon pang 1998.
“This new law is designed to enable the country to arrest the rapid spread of HIV-AIDS all over the country, especially among men having sex with men, the youth and children, and intravenous drug users,” ani Salo.
Mula Enero hanggang Agosto ngayong taon ay 7,579 ang bagong kaso naitala. Noong Agosto 1,047 ang bagong kasong naitala at 176 dito ang nasa advanced stage na.
