Erik Matti to Liza: I’m sure you’ll be a kickass Darna!
NAGLABAS na ng statement si Direk Erik Matti matapos pumutok ang balita na hindi na nya itutuloy ang Darna.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Direk Eric na wala naman siyang sama ng loob sa production, bagkus ay nagpasalamat pa, lalo na sa mga nakasama nyang staff and crew sa set ng Darna.
“As it has been announced, I have officially resigned from the movie Darna. It’s been 5 years and how I wish I coud have finished it after all the hard work that went into preparing and putting it together,” sabi ni Direk Erik.
Hindi rin nagbabago ang opinyon ni Direk Erik kay Liza Soberano na aniya’y magging ‘kickass Darna’ .
“To Liza Soberano, thank you for the dedication and commitment. I’m sure you’ll be a kickass Darna,” dagdag ni Direk Erik.
“Unfortunately, things didn’t work out ideally for both parties. Darna is personal to me. My first project in the industry was as continuity supervisor for Peque Gallaga’s Darna with Anjanette Abayari. And doing this modern reboot of the classic superhero, I feel that I have come full circle in this industry,” ayon pa kay Direk Erik.
Nauna nang inihayag ng Star Cinema at ng ABS-CBN na tuloy pa din ang Darna kahit na hindi na si Direk Erik ang direktor nito.
