BUMAWI ang Lyceum of the Philippines University sa masaklap na kabiguang natamo kontra Perpetual Help nang tambakan nito ang Arellano University, 113-79, kahapon sa pagpapatuloy ng 94th NCAA basketball tournament sa Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan City.
Ito ang ika-13 panalo ng Pirates sa 14 laro at nakakasiguro na ang koponan ng playoffs spot para sa Final Four.
Anim na Pirates ang tumikada ng double digits sa pangunguna ni Jaycee Marcelino na umiskor ng 21 puntos.
Nagdagdag naman ng 10 puntos, 10 rebounds at siyam na puntos ang reigning NCAA MVP na si Jaymar Perez.
Isang panalo pa at sigurado nang uusad sa semis ang Lyceum.
Noong isang linggo ay sinorpresa ng host Perpetual Help Altas ang Pirates, 81-83, para sa una nitong kabiguan sa elims mula pa noong isang season.
“After that game, we went to charity. Something that being with those kids and parents, they need our support, more than crying and losing to Perpetual,” sabi ni Lyceum head coach Topex Robinson.
