HINDI umano katanggap-tanggap ang P18-P23 pagtataas sa sahod na panukala ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas at Employers’ Confederation of the Philippines.
Ayon sa Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines napakalayo nito sa P800 arawang sahod na hinihingi nila mula sa P512 minimum wage sa National Capital Region.
“We urge the businessmen and the government to desist from pre-empting the wage board process by issuing statements as to how much the wage board can decide,” ani Alan Tanjusay, spokesman ng ALU-TUCP.
Sinabi ni Tanjusay na hindi dapat gawing biro ang pangangailangan ng mga ordinaryong manggagawa.
“The very sensitive issue of hunger of millions of working poor is on the line here so we hope everyone will respect. Let us stop insulting these aspirations and avoid making jokes to the poor.”
Sinabi ni BSP Deputy Governor Diwa Guinigundo ang P18-P20 lamang ang pagtataas na kayang ibigay ng wage board.
Ayon naman sa ECOP ang kaya lamang ng mga kompanya na ibigay ay P23.
