OPISYAL nang inokupahan ni Sen. Vicente “Tito“ Sotto III ang liderato ng Senado mula kay Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
Pormal nang nahalal si Sotto bilang Senate Presidente sa sesyon ng Senado kung saan mismong si Pimentel ang nag-nomina kay Sotto.
“I do this nomination without any reservation because I know with my close association with him, he is deserving,” sabi ni Pimentel sa kanyang manipestasyon.
Bumaba si Pimentel bilang Senate president at pumirma sa resolusyon na naghahalal sa kanyang bilang lider ng Senado.
Walang kumustiyon sa nominasyon ni Sotto.
Nag-abstain naman ang minority bloc na kinabibilangan nina Sen. Franklin Drilon, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Sen. Bam Aquino, Sen. Antonio Trillanes, at Sen. Leila de Lima.
Noong isang linggo, 15 senador ang pumirma sa resolusyon ng reorganisasyon ng Senado.
Pang-16 si Pimentel na pumirma sa resolusyon.
