Ayon sa prosekusyon hindi dapat payagang umalis ang dating senador dahil peke ang imbitasyon nito mula kay William Dechavez ng United States to attend a gathering of the US Pinoys for Good Governance.

“All the prosecution can allege is from the USPGG website that the letter invite of Dechavez id false, and that a certain Mr. Rodis and Ms. Lewis allegedly sent a letter, dated April 9, 2018 and received by them on April 12 to the effect that ‘Mr. Dechavez clarified that his friend from Michigan, Tony Antonio, who is a close friend of Estrada had asked him if he could use USPGG to invite Sen. Estrada. Mr. Dechavez said that he told Mr. Antonio that he could only use his name as an individual but NOT the organization as he would need to clear it with his members,” saad ng korte.
