Ouster plea ng SolGen vs Sereno nakatakdang talakayin ng SC bukas
NAKATAKDANG talakayin bukas ng Korte Suprema ang quo warranto petition na inihain ng Office of the Solicitor General na nagsusulong na tanggalin sa puwesto si Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno nang hindi sumasailalim sa impeachment trial.
Kinumpirma ng mga sources na isinama ang petisyon sa agenda ng regular en banc (full court) session bukas
The quo warranto petition is the proper petition because Sereno is unlawfully holding her current position, ayon kay Solicitor General Jose Calida,
“The blatant disregard by respondent Sereno to comply with the requirements of the law and Constitution proves her lack of integrity, hence she is unlawfully holding the position as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court,” sabi ni Calida sa panayam ng mga mamamahayag kahapon.
