Faeldon humarap na sa Senado; 2 senador humingi umano ng pabor sa BoC

HUMARAP  na si dating Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon sa pagdinig ng Senado matapos naman ang banta na ililipat siya sa Pasay City jail.

Sa kanyang pagharap sa Senate blue ribbon committee, itinuro ni Faeldon sina Minority Leader Franklin Drilon at Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III , na umano’y humingi sa kanyang ng pabor.

“I’d like to apologize to the following Senators dahil wala po kayo dito. I’m apologizing to you because I did not approve their requests,” sabi ni Faeldon.
Idinagdag ni Faeldon na noong 2016 dalawang beses na hiniling ni Drilon para makapulong siya sa Senado para sa isang memorandum of agreement (MoA) sa pagitan ng BoC at ng opisina ni National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) chairperson Serena Diokno.

Idinagdag ni Faeldon na taong 2016, hiniling din ni Sotto na italaga si Erik Albano bilang director for intelligence ng BOC.

“Idol kita Tito Sen, pasensya na ha pero this is illegal as far as I’m concerned. As early as 2016, twice, personally he asked me to appoint one official of the Bureau of Customs as the director of (intelligence),” dagdag ni Faeldon.
Ipinagtanggol naman ni Sen. Bam Aquino sina Drilon at Sotto.
“Parang hindi naman ho yata ganun ka-illegal na nagre-recommend ka ng tao o meron kang project na gustong matuloy,” sabi ni Aquino.
Nauna nang nagbanta si Sen. Richard Gordon na ililipat si Faeldon sa Pasay City jail sakaling magmatigas sa kanyang desisyong hindi siputin ang pagdinig ng Senado.
Nakatakda namang pagdesisyunan ng Senado kung ililipat si Faeldon sa Pasay City jail.
