Du30 itinalaga si Empedrad bilang bagong Navy chief

ITINALAGA ni Pangulong Duterte si Rear Admiral Robert Empedrad bilang bagong Flag Officer in Command ng Philippine Navy matapos namang sibakin ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana si dating Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado.
Epektibo ang pagkakatalaga kay Empedrad noon pang Disyembre 19,2017, bagamat pinirmahan ang kanyang appointment noong Enero 16, 2018.
Matatandaang sinibak ni Lorenzana si Mercado dahil sa kontrobersiya kaugnay ng weapons system procurement plan ng Navy, kung saan nakaladkad pa ang pangalan ni Special Assistat to the President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” Go.
