Ika-4 diretsong panalo nakuha ng Lady Chiefs sa NCAA volleyball

BINIGO ng defending champion Arellano University Lady Chiefs ang Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers, 25-11, 22-25, 25-18 at 25-16, upang mapanatiling malinis ang kartada sa apat na laro sa women’s division ng 93rd NCAA volleyball tournament kahapon sa Filoil Arena sa San Juan City.

Pinamunuan nina Regine Ann Arocha at Jovielyn Grace Prado na gumawa ng pinagsamang 37 puntos sa laro habang nag-ambag sina skipper Mary Ann Esquerra, Necole Ebuen at Andrea Marzan ng 12, 11 at 10 hits upang tulungan ang Lady Chiefs sa ikaapat na sunod na panalo.

“Masaya na nanalo kami pero marami pa rin kaming dapat ayusin sa koponan tulad sa reception,” sabi ni Arellano U coach Obet Javier.

Hangad ni Javier na mapahaba pa ng koponan ang kanilang winning streak at kung maaari ay mawalis ang single-round elimination sa pagsagupa nito sa Lyceum of the Philippines University sa sususnod na Linggo.

“We’re targeting it (sweep) but we’d also like to take it one game at a time starting with LPU,” sabi ni Javier.

Napanatili din ng Arellano U men’s team ang malinis na kartada sa pagsungkit sa ikaapat na panalo kontra sa JRU Bomebers, 25-18, 21-25, 25-14 at 25-22. Nalasap ng Bombers ang ikaapat na sunod na kabiguan. —Angelito Oredo
