‘Ang Larawan’ MMFF 2017 best picture; Derek best actor

ITINANGHAL na best picture ang musical na “Ang Larawan” na based sa three-act play na isinulat ng national artist na si Nick Joaquin na “A Portait of the Artist as a Fiipino” sa katatapos na 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal Miyerkules ng gabi.

Kasabay nito ay panalo rin ang for best actress ang international theater actress na si Joanna Ampil sa pagganap bilang pangunahin tauhan sa “Ang Larawan” na idinirehe ni  Loy Arcenas.  Ito ang kauna-unahang film project ng aktres.

“When I asked my parents what they wanted for Christmas, they said ‘just bring home the trophy,’ and I did!” pahayag ni Ampil sa pagtanggap niya ng tropeo sa seremonya na ginanap sa Kia Theater sa Quezon City.

Nanalo naman si Ryan Cayabyab ng best musical score, habang si Gino Gonzales ay wagi sa best production, kapwa para sa  “Ang Larawan.” Ang pelikula rin ang siyang tumanggap ng  Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Memorial Award, at Special Jury Prize naman para kay Joaquin.

Wagi naman bilang best actor si Derek Ramsay para sa pelikulang “All of You” habang best supporting actor naman si Edgar Allan Guzman para sa “Deadma Walking” at Jasmine Curtis bilang best supporting actress para sa pelikulang “Siargao”.

Itinanghal namang second best picture ang “Siargao” na idinirehe ni Paul Soriano na nanalo rin bilang best director.

Ikatlong best picture ang “All of You”, na pinagbibidahan ni Ramsay at Jennylyn Mercado.  Iniuwi rin nito ang best screenplay award.
