6 kawal sugatan sa landmine blast sa Iloilo

Anim na kawal ang nasugatan nang magkasabog ng landmine ang mga hinihinalang ksapi ng New People’s Army sa Janiuay, Iloilo, Biyernes ng gabi, ayon sa militar. Naganap ang pagpapasabog dakong alas-10:45 sa Brgy. Pangilihan, sabi ni Capt. Eduardo Precioso, public affairs officer ng Army 3rd Infantry Division. Dumadaan sa naturang lugar ang mga kawal ng 61st Infantry Battalion lulan ng mga military truck, nang magpasabog ng improvised na landmine ang mga rebelde sa barangay road, aniya. Sa anim na sugatan, isa lang ang nagtamo ng pinsala mula sa pagsabog, ani Precioso. “The other five only had minor bruises as they jumped out and maneuvered from their vehicle,” aniya. Ayon kay Precioso, kagagaling lang ng mga kawal sa isang “community support program” sa Brgy. Panuran, doon din sa Janiuay, nang sila’y tambangan. Ipinagbabawal ng Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, na nilagdaan ng pamahalaan at National Democratic Front kabilang ang NPA, ang paggamit sa mga landmine, aniya. “The act demonstrates that they (rebels) are anti-development and anti-social,” ani Precioso.
