OF all the celebrities who came lashing out at Sen. Tito Sotto’s uncalled for comment against Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo during the hearing of Commission of Appointments, it was Lea Salonga’s tweet which has both SUBSTANCE and FORM.

Sen. Sotto’s “In the street language, when you have children and you are single, ang tawag dun, e, ‘na-ano’ lang” comment on Secretary Judy’s being a single mom was outright insensitive.

“For much of my growing-up years, my mother was a single mother. I curse anyone and everyone that sees women like her as ‘less than’.”

“My husband was, for much of his upbringing, raised by a single mother. I curse anyone that sees women like her as ‘less than.’”

“For those that look down upon these beloved ladies, there’s a special place in hell for the likes of you.”

That was Lea’s reaction to the issue. It was SUCCINCT as it was direct to the point. In short, SAPUL!!!

Anyway, nag-apologize na si Sen. Sotto sa mga na-offend sa kanyang sinabi.

But too late the hero na siya because he already caught the collective ire of the Filipino people. Parang walang kumampi sa kanya, lahat ay bumatikos.
