WINAKASAN ng Meralco Bolts ang kanilang 6-game losing streak matapos patumbahin ang Rain or Shine Elasto Painters sa kanilang 2017 PBA Philippine Cup elimination round game Biyernes sa Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.
Kumamada si Chris Newsome ng 19 puntos, anim na assists at apat na rebounds para pangunahan ang Bolts na umangat sa 3-7 kartada at binuhay ang pag-asang makapasok sa quarterfinals.
Nag-ambag si Cliff Hodge ng double-double sa itinalang 17 puntos at 16 rebounds habang sina Jonathan Uyloan at Rabeh Al-Hussaini ay nagdagdag ng 14 at 10 puntos para sa Bolts.
“We’re keeping our hopes up. We’re trying to win one more game and hope somebody ends up with four wins. We don’t have control of our fate anymore,” sabi ni Meralco coach Norman Black.
