Tuloy ang pagdinig ng kasong plunder laban kay Atty. Gigi Reyes, ang dating chief of staff ni dating Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, kaugnay ng pork barrel fund scam.
Ito ay matapos na ibasura ng Sandiganbayan Third Division ang inihaing Motion to Quash ni Reyes at sabihin ng korte na mayroong batayan ang inihaing kaso ng Ombudsman.
“The facts charged in the Information sufficiently charge the crime of plunder; hence a motion to quash is legally unavailing to accused Reyes,” saad ng desisyon ng korte. “There is nothing in the allegations in the bill of particulars which could confuse accused Reyes in preparing her defense in this case.”
Sinabi ng korte na huli na rin upang humirit si Reyes ng Bills of Particulars dahil ito ay nabasahan na ng sakdal.
“Wherefore, the motion to quash filed by accused Reyes is denied for lack of merit,” saad ng korte. “Even on equitable grounds, the Court cannot order the release of accused Reyes.”
Si Reyes ay kinasuhan ng plunder kasama si Janet Lim Napoles, ang itinuturong utak ng pork barrel fund scam. Kasama rin sa kaso si Enrile subalit nakalabas ito ng kulungan matapos na paboran ng Korte Suprema ang kanyang mosyon na makapagpiyansa.
Tumanggap umano si Enrile, sa pamamagitan ni Reyes at Ruby Tuason ng P172.8 milyong kickback mula sa mga non government organization ni Napoles kung saan napunta ang kanyang pork barrel fund.
