Panunuhol sa 2 BI commissioners iimbestigahan ng Ombudsman
IIMBESTIGAHAN ng Office of the Ombudsman ang umano’y panunuhol ng gambling tycoon na si Jack Lam sa dalawang commissioner ng Bureau of Immigration.
“I directed this morning to check in on the case and see if we can on motu proprio start our own investigation… It would be more proper to handle the case because the DOJ has jurisdiction over them,” pahayag ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales sa kanyang pagharap sa Meet Inquirer Multimedia.
Ang imbestigasyon ay kaugnay nang pagbibigay umano ng dating opisyal ng pulis na si Wally Sombero sa dalawang commissioner ng limang paper bag na may lamang P10 milyon bawat isa. Nangyari ito sa isang casino mall sa Paranaque City at nakuhanan ng video.
Ang suhol ay para umano sa pagpapalaya sa mga Chinese nationals na nahuli dahil sa ilegal na pagtatrabaho sa isang online casino sa Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino sa Clark, Pampanga na pagmamay-ari ni Lam.
