“Whereas, the supposed ‘computer glitch’ and its effects were apparently not immediately disclosed by the SSS to the public and the same were discovered only after several pensioners were “surprised” to receive a “backpay” of their monthly pensions,” saad ng resolusyon.
“Whereas, the magnitude of the glitch is apparently very serious since as of August 11, 2016, SSS is said to have disbursed around Php 7.2 billion worth of back payments to at least 154,357 retirees. However, it is still unclear how many is the total number of the affected pensioners and retirees.”
“Whereas, this latest incident is another black mark against the present SSS Board as many members continue to complain about the long delays in the processing of SSS applications for, among others, disability, pension, funeral and death benefits.”
