Ayon kay Mayor President Digong, itinuturing niyang “singer with a social conscience” ang Filipino music icon”.

“That guy is a nationalist. His love of country shows in the way he uses his songs, which are always about corruption and what ails this country – the social injustice,” pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte sa isang panayam.

It lets you remember your childhood and the sacrifices of your parents.” Dagdag pa ng incoming president, “Hindi niyo lang alam pero I’m a stickler for values.
