Pacquiao, Donaire Sr. tutulong na sa ABAP

HINDI binibitawan ni Manny Pacquaio ang tsansa na irepresenta ang Pilipinas sa nalalapit na 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics habang tutulong na rin ang ama ni Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. sa pambansang koponan ng boxing.
Ito ang sinabi ni Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) executive director Ed Picson kung saan kinumpirma nito ang pagkuha sa serbisyo ni Donaire Sr. bilang consultant para sa programa nito para sa Olympic Games na gaganapin sa Agosto
5-21.
“We will have a minimum of one month contract muna,” sabi ni Picson patungkol sa pagkuha niya kay Donaire Sr. “Dapat sana magkakapirmahan na before na umalis si Donaire Sr pero na-late ang paggawa sa kontrata.”
Si Donaire Sr. ay isasama naman ng ABAP sa mga coaches nito na pinapasahod ng PSC.
Nalaman naman kay ABAP national coach Nolito “Boy” Velasco na hinihintay pa nila ang kasagutan ni Pacquiao hinggil sa pagnanais nitong lumaban sa Rio.
“We are still waiting for the decision of Congressman (Pacquiao). But until na wala pa siyang announcement, we will still send in Dennis Galvan sa category nila na 64kg o welterweight,” sabi ni Velasco.
Sa ngayon, dalawang Pinoy pa lamang ang nakakakuha ng Olympic slots. Ito ay sina lightweight Charly Suarez at flyweight Rogen Ladon.
Nakatakda naman sumabak sa Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament sa Mayo 16 si Nesthy Petecio.
